五、终极使命

　　一共十几个人同时亲眼目击了这个不明来历的奇异生物。那怪物有五六英尺左右高，长着一对半爪半脚的下肢，头额上有一双巨大明亮的红色眼睛，生着像蝙蝠般的巨大飞翼，毛皮是灰褐色。所有人都一下子感到了一阵阵毛骨悚然的恐惧，仿佛这怪物的突然造访，会预示着即将到来的厄运。
　　“Sir! Are you all right?（先生！你没事吧？）”米里亚娜紧张地问道，双手举枪对着那只怪物。
　　“I'm fine. It didn't hurt me.（我没事，它并没有伤害我。）”弗朗西斯科·佛朗哥双眼凝视着那只神秘生物。
　　“凯丽！小心点把它拍出来，别让它发现；晓飞掩护。”萧问天压低了声音用中文说道。
　　凯丽站在高晓飞的身后，拿出手机，飞快地调了静音，把摄像头从高晓飞的肩膀处偷偷地伸出去，一按拍摄键就是一阵速拍。
　　那只神秘物种和弗朗西斯科·佛朗哥相互对望了一会，扇动着双翅，发出了一阵阵嗡嗡嗡的声响，随即一飞冲天，瞬间无影无踪。
　　望着那怪物飞走的方向上空，所有的人都不约而同地长长舒了一口大气。
　　米里亚娜见险情解除，这才松了一口气，把手枪放好，挥手让警卫隐去。
　　萧问天看到弗朗西斯科·佛朗哥的神色虽然害怕，但似乎并没有特别震惊的感觉，连忙问道：“Mr. Francisco franco!This mysterious species, it's been here before, right?（弗朗西斯科·佛朗哥先生！这个神秘物种，它以前曾经来过，对吗？）”

　　“Have you seen it? Have you seen this monster?（你见过它？见过这个怪物？）”所有的人都不禁惊问。

　　“Mothman?（天蛾人？）”弗朗西斯科·佛朗哥紧锁着眉头沉思。

　　在地球上，还有许多人类不曾踏足的地方，或许，还隐藏着很多不为人知的神秘生物。它们是地球上最神秘的存在；世界各地也都出现过各种各样未知的神秘生物，人类对它们一无所知，只能称之为神奇物种，虽然这些神秘生物尚未被证实，但大自然总能孕育出神奇的生命，而天蛾人，就是这些传说中、未知的神秘物种。
　　艾瑞丝惊愕着说道：“Oh my god! Is there really a moth man?（天哪！难道真有天蛾人吗？）”
　　问天疑惑地问道：“Mr. Francisco franco!Why do the moths come here?And three times in a row, it can't have no purpose!（弗朗西斯科·佛朗哥先生！天蛾人为什么会来这里？而且连续来了三次，它不可能没有目的！）”

　　问天思索了一会，说道：“So, could the appearance of the mothman have something to do with the treasure hunt in the amazon rainforest?（如此说来，这天蛾人的出现，会不会与亚马逊雨林寻找宝藏一事有关？）”
　　弗朗西斯科·佛朗哥恍然大悟，连忙说道：“Mr Shaw!You're right. It must have something to do with the treasure hunt in the amazon rainforest!（萧先生！你说得不错，这一定和亚马逊雨林寻找宝藏一事有关系！）”他闭目沉思，脑子里似乎有着太多的迷团解不开，不由得舒了一口长气，“Miriana!First, you take Mr. Shaw and them to the clubhouse for a rest and a good reception.I need be quiet. Think about it. Think about it.（米里亚娜！你先带着萧先生他们去会所休息，好好招待；我需要静一静，好好想想，好好想想。）”
　　会所也是在同一个湖区之内，车行十几分钟就到了，只和别墅隔了一道湖湾，形成了隔水相望的景观；而且占地面积很大，但建筑面积不不多，主要是以景观花园别墅为主，更显得环境优美，清静怡人。

　　米里亚娜带着五人进入会所，走到服务台拿了一张磁卡，然后领着五人穿过会所的后门，走过了一段四面都是鲜花簇拥的花境小道，来到了一幢临水别墅前，磁卡一扫，把别墅门打开，微笑着介绍道：“This is the highest level villa in the club, there are more than ten guest rooms, and it is very convenient for you to live together.（这是会所里最高级别的别墅，有十几间客房，也非常方便你们住在一起。我就住在隔壁的那一幢，有什么需要随时找我。）”
　　各人刚刚选好房间，米里亚娜就让人把午餐搬到了别墅里，又陪着五人一起用餐。
　　米里亚娜举着酒杯笑道：“Mr Shaw! I'm sorry I offended you so much today.（萧先生！今天多有得罪，不好意思。）”她身材火辣，性感迷人，但举止言行之间却风范依然，不失礼度。
　　“Thank you!（谢谢！）”问天举杯和她一碰。
　　米里亚娜又对着众人一一敬酒问候，给众人介绍了一些会所，以及一些关于弗朗西斯科·佛朗哥的事情，待人接物之间非常得体周到。
　　用餐罢，米里亚娜告辞出去。凯丽这才拿出手机，连接上电脑，大家一齐过来观看在别墅拍摄到的天蛾人照片。
　　放大了照片，布莱特不禁咋舌道：“What a horrible monster!（这怪物长得也太恐怖了吧！）”
　　高晓飞感叹道：“Not only is it scary, but it flies!（不仅仅是恐怖，而且它还会飞！）”突然惊呼一声，“Is this mothman unique to China?（这天蛾人会不会就是中国的特有物种？）”
　　凯丽莫名其妙：“What are you talking about?（你说什么呢？）”

　　艾瑞丝也在搜索讯息，点头说道：“Sightings of mothman, commonly described as a giant bat, have been reported in many parts of the world, and there are some Suggestions that it was a surviving pterosaur, but there is still no scientific evidence to support the existence of this mysterious creature.（在世界上很多地方也都有人声称目击到天蛾人，普遍描述其为一种巨型的蝙蝠；也有一些观点认为，是某类幸存的翼龙目动物。但在科学上，至今仍未有确凿的证据能够证明这类神秘生物的真实存在。）”
　　但更加奇特的是，据美国当地媒体报道，一九六六年，几乎目击见过天蛾人的人或是自杀身亡，或是精神异常，大都没活过半年。据小道消息统计，看过天蛾人而丧生的人，多达一百多人。于是，这种奇异的神秘生物便在美国家喻户晓，成为毛骨悚然的恐惧象征，很多人认为天蛾人的造访，会预示着即将到来的厄运。

　　天蛾人的传说很快蔓延到欧洲乃至全球，很多人声称也目击了天蛾人，尤其是大灾难发生时，都有人声称看到了天蛾人，甚至会有一些说不清真假的照片和视频流出。
　　布莱特又疑惑地问道：“Uncle!You say, this moth man, can be they intentionally false to deceive us?（叔叔！你说，这个天蛾人，会不会是他们故意造假来糊弄我们的？）”

　　问天点头道：“Xiaofei is right!The fact that this moth-man was real, and certainly came with a purpose, suggests that the ancient treasures of the amazon are real.（晓飞说得对！这个天蛾人是实实在在的，而且肯定是有目的而来，这也说明了，亚马逊古代宝藏也是确有其事。）”
　　艾瑞丝说道：“The legend of the ancient amazon treasure has always existed in the folk, but it is difficult to tell true or false, in the folk is just a legend.（亚马逊古代宝藏的传说一直都存在于民间，可真假难辨，在民间中也只是一种传说罢了。）”

　　“Uncle!（叔叔！）……”艾瑞丝沉思良久，但却又忍住了不往下问。
　　“Iris! Do you really want to go into the amazon rainforest?（艾瑞丝！你是不是真想要进去亚马逊雨林？）”问天见她欲言又止，辨形观色，深知她信念使然，既然确定了事情的真实性，肯定就会不顾一切危险也想着去一探究竟，获取真相。
　　“Uncle!（叔叔！）”艾瑞丝缓缓地点了点头，“I knew I couldn't do it. I knew it was dangerous. I'm more afraid of bringing you down, so...（我知道我不可能做得到，我更知道很危险，更怕连累你们，所以……）”
　　问天感叹道：“The amazon rainforest is vital to the health of the world and all living things on earth, yet it is already facing an existential crisis before it can be properly used by human beings.What will happen to mankind once the crisis in the amazon cannot be reversed?In such a crisis, everyone should be duty-bound, you have this idea, really valuable!（亚马逊雨林对于全世界，以及生存在地球上一切生物的健康都是至关重要，然而还没有等到被人类合理利用的那天，就已经开始面临生存危机。一旦亚马逊雨林的危机无法逆转，人类又将会面临怎样的命运？在这种危机关头，每个人都本应该义不容辞，你有这种想法，真的是难能可贵！）”
　　艾瑞丝无奈地叹惜道：“But I can't do anything right. What should I do?（可我什么都做不好，我该怎么办？）”

　　布莱特看了看高晓飞，又看看凯丽，再看了看艾瑞丝，疑惑地问道：“Feed! What do you mean by singing together?（喂喂喂！你们一唱一和的什么意思？）”
　　问天微微一笑，说道：“Because they all want to go into the amazon rainforest.（因为，他们都想着要进去亚马逊雨林。）”
　　“Oh! My god, this is a life to adventure!（噢！我的上帝，这可是拿命去探险！）”布莱特差点儿昏厥过去。
　　月朗星稀的夜晚，秋风掠过，倒映在水中的灯光此起彼伏，整个林地花园被晚霞染成了绚丽的色彩。在寂静山谷之间的湖面犹如经过打磨的镜子，没有一丝涟漪，宛如一位神秘的仙女在跳着一支优雅的舞蹈。
　　在对岸那幢隔湖相望的豪华别墅里，弗朗西斯科·佛朗哥正和米里亚娜在书房里。
　　“Sir!If they don't want to go to the amazon rainforest, what are you going to do?（先生！如果他们不愿意去亚马逊雨林，你打算怎么办？）”

　　“That you......（那你……）”米里亚娜犹豫了一下，继续问道，“Will it kill them? Or hand them over?（会不会杀了他们？或者，把他们交出去？）”
　　“I had thought about it, but I hadn't thought about killing them since I saw that man, and killing them wouldn't do us any good.（我也曾经想过这个问题，但自从看到那位萧问天之后，我就没打算过要杀他们；而且，杀了他们对于我们也是毫无益处。）”
　　米里亚娜脸露喜色，赞道：“Good idea, Sir! That Mr. Shaw is really out of the ordinary!（先生高见！那位萧先生真的是不同凡响！）”

　　米里亚娜说道：“We can keep them for a few more days in the hope that they will agree to our cooperation.（我们可以留他们多住几天，希望他们能够答应我们的合作。）”

　　在隔湖相望的会所别墅里，萧问天一行五人也正在讨论着。

　　“哈哈哈哈！”凯丽又被他逗得忍不住大笑。
　　在另一边的豪华别墅里，弗朗西斯科·佛朗哥还在聚精会神地看着视频画面；萧问天、高晓飞和凯丽三个人的身手和胆识，让他不得不过分关注，甚至于有点儿欲罢不能的感觉。
　　“Sir!I'll come back tomorrow and talk to them, or we can overcharge them.（先生！我明天再过去跟他们聊聊，或者，我们可以给他们多开价钱。）”米里亚娜坐在旁边冲泡着功夫茶。

　　弗朗西斯科·佛朗哥关了视频画面，点头示意米里亚娜接电话。
　　“Miss Miriana!I'm Iris.（米里亚娜小姐！我是艾瑞丝。）”电话里传出了艾瑞丝的声音。
　　“Miss Iris!Hello!Is there anything I can do for you?（艾瑞丝小姐！你好！请问有什么事需要我帮忙吗？）”米里亚娜非常礼貌地回答问候。
　　“Miss Miriana!After discussion, we plan to leave Brazil tomorrow. Please tell Mr. Francisco franco that we cannot cooperate with you. Thank you very much for his trust and hospitality.（米里亚娜小姐！我们经过商量，打算明天离开巴西，务必请你转告弗朗西斯科·佛朗哥先生，我们无法和你们合作，非常感谢他的信任和款待，谢谢！）”
　　米里亚娜的心里突然一凉，顿时就有了一种非常空洞的感觉，恍惚间犹如失去了什么东西似的，想抓也无从抓住。
　　弗朗西斯科·佛朗哥轻轻地叹惜了一声，闭上眼睛缓缓地靠在红木沙发上，相隔良久，这才睁开双眼，对着米里亚娜说道：“Tomorrow, you yourself send them away, don't let the cat out of the bag, go aboard our ship and make sure they're safe.（明天，你亲自把他们送走，别走漏了风声，上我们的船，交代好保证他们的安全。）”
　　第二天的午时，一架直升飞机直接降落在里约热内卢港一艘远洋货轮的停机坪上，米里亚娜亲自驾驶飞机，从巴西利亚把萧问天一行五人送到了里约热内卢港的船上。
　　“Mr Shaw!This is our company's own ship. It will be very safe. I wish you all a good journey.（萧先生！这是我们公司自己的船，会非常安全，祝大家一路顺风，后会有期。）”米里亚娜微笑着向问天伸出手去。
　　“Thank you very much! Thank you very much!（谢谢！非常感谢！）”萧问天伸手和她相握。
　　空中又传来了直升飞机的轰鸣声，一架直升飞机由远而近，盘旋在货轮的上空，缓缓地降了下来。
　　“It's Francisco. Mr. Franco is here. He's coming to see you off himself.（是弗朗西斯科·佛朗哥先生来了，他要亲自来送一送你们。）”米里亚娜看着直升飞机，又惊又喜。
　　萧问天侧过头去，看着高晓飞、凯丽、布莱特和艾瑞丝微微一笑，然后迎着刚刚走下了飞机的弗朗西斯科·佛朗哥走了过去。
　　“Mr Shaw! I thought I wouldn't be able to give you a lift!（萧先生！我以为赶不上送你们一程了！）”弗朗西斯科·佛朗哥快走几步，伸手和问天相握。
　　“Mr. Francisco franco!Thank you for meeting us in person again!Thank you very much!（弗朗西斯科·佛朗哥先生！谢谢你又亲自来接我们！谢谢！）”问天握着他的手说。
　　“To pick you up? Aren't you leaving soon?（来接你们？你们不是马上就要走了吗？）”弗朗西斯科·佛朗哥一时回不过神来。
　　“Sir!（先生！）”米里亚娜惊喜交加，激动地说道：“Mr. Shaw has promised to cooperate with us!（萧先生，这是答应和我们合作了！）”
　　弗朗西斯科·佛朗哥看着萧问天，又看了看站在他身后的高晓飞、凯丽、布莱特和艾瑞丝，激动地说道：“You guys really think this through?（你们，真的想清楚了？）”
　　艾瑞丝走上前来，微笑着说道：“Mr. Francisco franco!Uncle Xiao admires Mr. Man, and, to protect the environment, is the ultimate mission of every one of us.（弗朗西斯科·佛朗哥先生！萧叔叔敬佩先生的为人，而且，保护环境，本来就是我们每一个人的终极使命。）”（未完待续）
